THE WATER COME HOME

Writer Dave Karczynski grew up in a Polish-American home in a Polish suburb of the very Polish city of Chicago. Growing up, aunts, uncles, grandparents all spoke to Karczynski of this mysterious, strange, faraway place. When Karczynski finds himself in his ancestral homeland, he determined to discover Poland and fish as many of the countries streams as he can. Amid the leftovers of the Soviet era, Karczynski finds a land of ancient wilderness, arcane regulations, plentiful food and honest-to-goodness native brown trout.
