FIRST PERSON FISHING

Posted by: Greg Keeler / added: 05.05.2009 / Back to Tailgate

I started hanging a camera around my neck and videoing some of my fishing--for my granddaughter, grandson, and friends who can't be up here fishing for trout. I think I was the "first person" to do it. David Behr, my late Troutball friend wasn't impressed and said something like, "but the fish aren't big."

Of course, that's not the point. The point is first person fly-fishing. My granddaughter, Charlotte, is the only person who's really been impressed with the perspective--and she's 2 years old.

Greg's

Many might wonder how Greg knew he'd catch one when he hit "record" on this cast. Having fished with him many times, I can tell you I've spied on him revealing his secret as I watched from the shade of big cottonwoods. He stands upstream from where he thinks rainbows are hold up, then lordels in the rapids to chum the riffle. Good strategy, Gorgo.
