The Bunkhouse
I used to stop at the Bunkhouse Bar for years when I'd fish at Canyon Ferry. My friend, Vern Troxel, who I used to fish with over there, was a retired logger from Townsend, and he'd always know everyone in the bar.

Belated Mother's Day Dispatch: Truite Au Bleu
On Mother’s Day, I caught my first five small trout on a dry to prepare Truite au bleu for my wife. The last time I attempted the dish I worked for Gordon McCrae on the M+ Ranch in Island Park, Idaho. The McCrae Ranch butted up against the more famous Trude Ranch in Shotgun Valley where Old Man Trude purportedly tied his famous fly. Somewhere I had heard—probably from my boss, Gordon, who wintered in Las Vegas— that Truite au Bleu should always be prepared with live fish
ALMOST TRASHY TOUR #2
Several times on the trip when we pulled over for gas and peeing, guys with small chins and dental incongruities would come over and start talking to us, most likely because they were enamored with our Trash Fish caps. One even yodeled, "Yew got any more of them?" and was truly crestfallen when we didn't.

RUN-OFF, A ROAD TRIP AND CARP FISHING
After a long winter of standing in horizontal snow and breaking ice out of guides, this time of year calls for a blue water or muddy water trip. I'm a fan of the muddy water. Thanks to Thomas Clennon and the first carp of the season on a dry fly, Highway 17, and rubber legs.
Hustle and Fish, Total Duestche Tour 09
With the release of Rollcast Productions "Hustle and Fish" and buzz surrounding the NW producers Steve Apple and Dave Wilson's comedic gem, the Seattle screening party was high on the radar of many Sea-town flyheads. And the turnout did not disappoint. With appearences by friends, relatives, and actors -- more often than not, all three in one person -- Fremont's Nectar nightclub began serving many stiff beverages well before dusk, and by nightfall... it was on.
