Conservation Coalition Questions PA Pipeline Project

Pennsylvania environmental organizations are looking to halt expidited approval by the Federal Energy Commision of a proposed gas pipline through the northeastern section of the state, calling on regulators to meet compliance and vigorously examine the real affects of the pipeline before approval.

The 39-mile pipeline, known as the MARC I Hub Line Project, proposed to be constructed and maintained by the Central New York Oil and Gas Company, would bisect Bradford, Sullivan, and Lycoming Counties in PA, through pristine drinking water sources and fishing streams in the Endless Mountains, impacting over 610 acres and leaving 238 of these permanently altered.

For anyone who cares about clean water period, let alone fishing opportunities, please express you concern to your congressional representative regarding the potential to destroy, through “fracking”, another quality American watershed.
