I could identify with parts of this GEOBASS episode. Hippo’s grunting in the dark, endless roads which seemed to go on for ever, almost like the song, but our party did end.

In 2007 I took a trip to South Africa to vacation with my mom and sister. We hopped a small plane into Botswana and set out by boat into the Okavango delta, sleeping on the one patch of dry land for miles. During the day we’d cruise around the endless mazes of Okovangan swamp looking for juicy Tigerfish seams, wondering how our bush guide Mike Watson knew where we were, because it all looked the same and went on forever.
