Yow: Icelandic For Yes

Tributaries filmmaker RC Cone and Shane Stalling are bumming around Iceland with a car full of surfboards and flyrods producing a new film, Yow: Icelandic For Yes. Apparently there are large Atlantic salmon and some cool waves over Iceland way. I think they might be rolling in Spicoli’s van?

Shane sent over a few photos from the first leg of their trip and some captions below. Enjoy the daydream distraction.

With a fishing net and surfboard always at the ready, the @Yow_film crew is on a month long journey, saying Yow! (Icelandic for yes) to a fishing and surfing adventure around Iceland.

Weather in the northern Atlantic Ocean can change quickly. Once or twice a summer Iceland gets a big and wet storm. @Yow_film found themselves in the middle of one while salmon fishing on the Laxa river. Knowing that every cast could mean a 20lb salmon, the crew spent long days out in the elements.

Sometimes having the chance to fish beat one of the Hofsa river in Iceland is a dream come true. Big waterfalls, riverside cliffs and views of snowcapped mountains make this water one of the most incredible pieces of water Shane (@s_stalling) has ever fished. To catch a salmon here was a nice bonus for @yow_film.
