ALMOST HAPPY
Here are three sonnets from a new book, Almost Happy, to be published by Limberlost Press. I'll be touring with the Almost Trashy tour through Idaho and Utah during the next two weeks. With luck, we'll have some books bound by Thursday.

FIRST PERSON FISHING
I started hanging a camera around my neck and videoing some of my fishing--for my granddaughter, grandson, and friends who can't be up here fishing for trout. I think I was the "first person" to do it. David Behr, my late Troutball friend wasn't impressed and said something like, "but the fish aren't big."
BONEDALE FISHING REPORT #2
I have Cameras galore and God knows I have the stories. Let’s go catch baby tarpon, or whatever. Some of the stories are page 13, but the main thing is to put the fun back in fishing. You guys have only seen the first part of the show.
Somewhere in Baja, Mex
In celebration of Cinco de Mayo Eve, check out rogueangels.net—a solid blog site run by Kate Taylor, documenting her crew of fishergals across the globe, and in particular, the Bajan adventures that she and her man Justin Crump are charging currently. Having cut ties with Freedomland for a minute, the two are footloose with a poptop camper and an agenda that focuses predominantly on roosterfish, Tecates and a full enjoyment of La Vida Grande.
Welcome
Welcome to The Flyfish Journal and our Tailgate blog: News, Images, and outright Lies.
A little stoker promo TFFJ clip courtesy of Steve and Dave at Rollcast Productions featring the pleasing tones of Chuckanut Drive. Give ’em a listen. Like Wilco without the drama.
TROUT SEASON STARTS TODAY: 1904
A dispatch from TFFJ's SoCal Blog office and the great Ben Marcus, World's Greatest Surfwriter™ and a couple of LA Times vintage fishing reports from Malibu Creek, Ventura and beyond. And clearly there was bitterness towards the "salmon-eggers" crowd by steelie fly enthusiasts, even in 1904.
Hustle and Fish
Although when Dave and Steve first showed us a couple of disjointed clips of a guy doing donuts in a Camaro and a couple of hesh freaks beating up frozen tilapia along the banks of a flood stage river (the Tolt?)—we weren't entirely sure if we were sponsoring fishing's "Brazil" or it's "Waterworld". Rather, it's more like fly culture's "Caddyshack" or "The Producers". Buy this movie.
