Fish: Mountain Whitefish
Fly: 1999 One Fly winner, Amy’s Ant
Whitefish might not jump much, but one did eat my big dry fly the other day. Holding in shallow water, it came up just like a trout would. How it fit the size giant Amy’s Ant into it’s mouth is another puzzler. Regardless, it stoked me out on catching Snorkelhosers, as Greg Keeler likes to call them, and now I will forever be disappointed when I don’t catch one on a big foam terrestrial in riffley trout water.
