When songwriter Chuck Ragan is playing his guitar and singing, he’s probably thinking about flyfishing. When he’s flyfishing, he’s more than likely thinking about playing his guitar and singing.

Sometimes, that sort of creative cognitive dissonance all works out, like on this tune, “Gathering Wood” an exclusive for The Flyfish Journal. According to Chuck, he came up with this tune on the banks of a river while chasing a few fish. Only a dozen or so more fishing trips and—boom!— album done.
