Believe it or not, seven of the eight net pen sites in Puget Sound are located in marine protected areas. These marine protected areas are an invaluable resource, and we’re supporting a new campaign to make them net pen free.
Wild fish populations across the world are in a vulnerable state, and the Atlantic salmon net pen industry is further depleting depressed stocks to feed their farmed salmon. No matter what they say, this industry is not sustainable and doesn’t belong in Washington’s waters.
