Greenback Cutthroat Trout

Herman Gulch Reintroduction

Colorado’s state fish, the greenback cutthroat trout now have a fighting chance to begin repopulating a remote stream in the Colorado high country.

“More than 50 volunteers from Trout Unlimited and other conservation groups hauled 20-pound packs of the year-old, genetically pure greenback cutthroat trout into the type of high-country streams where they evolved.”

Nice work Colorado TU, The GreenbacksColorado Parks and Wildlife and everyone else who pitched in.
