To help celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wild and Scenic Rivers Act, which was established in 1968 to preserve special rivers whose beautiful natural, cultural and recreational value are worth more as a free-flowing whole, for ourselves and generations to come, American Rivers has kicked off the 5000 Miles of Wild campaign. With a goal of protecting 5,000 new miles of Wild and Scenic rivers in 13 different states, in bend, bank, rapid, meander and eddy, it’s truly something worth supporting, for yourself and generations to come.
