Backcountry Solitude

Maddie Brenneman on Fishing Alone

If someone tells you that you shouldn’t fish by yourself, show them this video of Maddie Brenneman flyfishing. Her favorite fishing happens 600ft down a New Mexico canyon. Alone. “Just you and the river and the wilderness around,” she says, perched happily on a river rock. “This is my practice of connecting with the outdoors.”

From Redington: “Sometimes it’s more than fish we’re seeking. Backcountry Solitude follows Maddie, a friend of Redington, as she seeks out a unique wilderness experience far from crowded roadside rivers.”
