Ed Haaga and the Last Cap’s Hair-Wing

Lost Footage Found

“It may not be the best, but it may be the last.” (Dammit. Who started cutting onions?)

In March 1985, Ed Haaga tied his last Cap’s Hair-Wing. He was the tyer for Cap Buettner’s fly shop in Langlade, Wisconsin for many years, and first tied this fly for the nearby Wolf River. This footage shows him patiently tying another–while also sporting a dapper blue shirt, complete with a miniature Hair-Wing embroidered above the pocket.
