Living here in the Pacific Northwest with fall in full swing and a whole winter to come, this track is very appropriate. The Violent Femmes folks, and if you like this one, there is a second track on their 1984 album Hallowed Ground, aptly titled ‘It’s Gonna Rain’ with heavy rain references, if you’re into that sort of thing. Very true Femmes, very true, it’s gonna rain. And to close on an optimistic note, relating to the whole impending winter rains and short dark days thing, it’s sure to bring in some fish.
