A Tail of Three Trout

Australia's Snowy Mountains

From The Flyfish Journal 9.2 cover photographer Joshua Hutchins comes this wonderful portrait of a group of anglers and their quest to catch three species of trout from the stunning waters of Australia’s Snowy Mountains. A Tail of Three Trout is visually stunning with incredible cinematography and a fun goal of finding browns, rainbows and brook trout in the Australian high country.

As a kid, one of my favorite movies was The Man From Snowy River, and naturally, this film reminds me of those hours spent in awe at a the surrounding landscapes of the Snowy Mountains, the different accents and cultures of the locals and of course those wonderful wild horses.

From Aussie Flyfisher: “The Snowy Mountains region is arguably the most renowned trout fishery of mainland Australia. Rugged mountains, wild open plains, and alpine streams full of trout.
Our aim was simple: To conquer three species in three days… browns, rainbows and brooks.”

Well done gentlemen, well done.
