Glen Canyon is slowly filling up with silt after 51 years of holding back Colorado river flows. Behind Glen Canyon Dam sits Lake Powell, which provides an economic boost to the surrounding communities of the Four Corners. Below the dam exists the crystal clear and cold trout fishery of Lees Ferry, where several guiding operations exist, and the river feeds a vast array of other recreational opportunities. Many people would like to see the dam removed as the effects to the biodiversity and ecology of the Grand Canyon are becoming more pressing. Concrete Change takes a quick view at a handful of folks who’ve spent their lives around the Colorado River and their perspectives towards the future of Glen Canyon Dam.
