Lanesboro
A New Film from Director Mike Thienes
Mike Thienes, director of Water Sabbath and Sando Chunk, takes us just down the road to Lanesboro, MN, USA. This idyllic town in southeast Minnesota’s Root River Valley is home shimmering rivers and streams that support world-class trout fishing—with, of course, some smallmouth bass fishing that can hold its own as well.

Take a stroll through Lanesboro and a trip down the Root River with Lance Prado, of Root River Rod Co., and Bret Oeltjenbruns as they spend a day in search of fish of the bronze, brown and rainbow variety. Thienes combines mesmerizing visuals and his signature soundtracking (featuring Minneapolis-based psychedelic shoe gazers Flavor Crystals) to create a reminder why the best towns are often the little ones—especially when a river runs through them.
