BLOOD AND WATER

At last count, legendary photographer Andy Anderson has lost more than a dozen high-end cameras to the elements. It’s an on-the-job hazard, but cracked lenses and dunked frames have done little to derail his storied career which includes the covers of most flyfishing magazines, major advertising work and the award-winning book, Salt. Anderson’s work is expansive; full of movement and each shot is able to capture a scene and feeling in its entirety. In “Blood and Water,” Anderson’s photo essay for The Flyfish Journal, we learn one of Anderson’s rules on the water. “Shooting is documentation,” he says, but it’s also very personal. If you can live a bit of yourself—your DNA—the more longevity you’ll have.”
