Burger Caboose
Skagit Valley Burger Express
Yep, it’s a caboose where they cook burgers. It’s actually called Skagit Valley Burger Express, but burger caboose is way cooler. Drinking a cold, fizzy lemon-lime drink while waiting on your food after driving over highway 20 on a hot summer day, road weary and kicked from days of playing hooky from work running around with fly rods and camp gear is a dang fine way to pit stop in Skagit Valley. I always go with the standard cheeseburger and eat at the covered picnic tables. The beef is good grass fed naturally raised beef. It drips with all of the ketchup and mustard like a good burger should. While you eat you can watch the neighbors free-range chickens peck at the ground and there is a cool chainsaw carving of a huge burger. Did I mention the food comes out of a caboose? The people in the caboose are always very friendly and after devouring my meal I make sure to tell them how good the burgers are. The caboose is closed on Sundays, so plan your cravings accordingly.
